WHAT IS AN MOT CHECK? 

The MOT test is an examination of your vehicle to ensure it meets the minimum standards required to be allowed on the road. The Vehicle and Operating Services Agency (VOSA) are responsible for setting these standards, and monitoring both the MOT testing station and the MOT tester. All VOSA approved MOT testers have a regular quality check carried out to ensure a consistent professional level of care.

You are allowed to have your MOT test carried out and post-dated up to one calendar month in advance of the due date. When booking your MOT check do bear in mind that the standards are a minimum requirement to allow the vehicle on the road and should not be used as a substitute for a scheduled service which comprises a much more comprehensive examination of your vehicle’s operating systems, does your car also need a service?

HOW LONG DOES AN MOT CHECK TAKE?

We offer waiting appointments for MOT test, which take up to an hour. As long as you’ve passed, we can distribute your MOT certificate within that time period. If your vehicle fails on anything, we’ll let you know what’s gone wrong and quote you for the repair which we’ll usually do on the day, before we re-test and pass your vehicle.

HOW QUICKLY CAN I BOOK MY CAR IN?

We often have availability on the day if you call in the morning, however if you need a waiting appointment, we advise that you book in the week before. 

HOW MUCH DOES AN MOT CHECK COST?

Motormech Guildford currently offers the MOT test at only £29.99 (45% off the max fee) and for £20 when booked with any service. 

HOW MUCH DOES AN MOT RE-TEST COST?

As long as you have your repairs done with us, we don’t ever charge for an MOT re-test. If you have the repairs done elsewhere, the MOT re-test is £15.
